Founded in 1986 as Interlink Ireland Ltd with 10 depots and a central hub in Athlone, Co. Westmeath, we've grown to become Ireland’s largest dedicated parcel delivery company. Today, we operate 36 depots across the island of Ireland, handling in excess of 40 million parcels every year.
In 2000, we became part of GeoPost S.A., the parcels and express division of La Poste, the French Post Office. As demand surged over the following years, we invested €18 million and opened a new state-of-the-art hub and headquarters in Athlone by 2006.
In 2008, we rebranded as DPD, in line with La Poste’s European delivery network to offer our customers a seamless experience across borders. By 2016, we had doubled our hub size and tripled our sortation capacity, thanks to our advanced Beumer cross belt sorter and Van der Lande shoe sorter. These innovations have provided us with a future proof competitive advantage, ensuring we enjoy the most efficient and technologically advanced parcel sortation system in Ireland.
